SWWIM Residency @ The Betsy-South Beach Applications are open for 2022-23!

+

A SWWIM residency includes a four-day, three-night stay at The Betsy-South Beach, a luxury, boutique hotel devoted to the arts and philanthropy located on iconic Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, Florida. The residency includes a per diem to be used at any of the hotel's restaurants. Writers will be required to participate in two events: 1. a poetry reading (paired with a local poet) and 2. a Meet-the-Artist event, which is a casual conversation about the writer's work, process, etc., with the editors of SWWIM Every Day. Writers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the residency.

Dates for residencies are quarterly and subject to change. We work with the writers to schedule these around academic, family, work, and other responsibilities.

Application Process:

Please include a short but relevant bio, including major publications and previous residencies, and a 10-page work sample with a cover letter. You do not need to supply an outline for a project or a prospectus about what you intend to do with your time.

If submitting on behalf of someone else, please include social media and contact info for both the submitter and the writer.

Applicants must be 25 years of age or older.
